My relationship with yoga began in 2000. I dabbled in different styles, but quickly gravitated towards power vinyasa as it provided the intense physicality that I craved. However, in 2010 I suddenly found myself in horrific pain with severely swollen joints and unable to move, and was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis. Yoga served as a healthy outlet to relieve my stress, and provided access to regain my strength and mobility.
As I grew deeper into my own practice, I felt the desire to share the benefits of yoga with others and completed my 200 hour teacher certification in 2011 at CorePower Yoga in Portland, Oregon. After moving to Bend in 2014, I decided to enhance my training and completed 300 additional training hours with Suzie Newcome at Namaspa Yoga to obtain my E-RYT 500 certification as well as the continuing education provider certification through the Yoga Alliance.
The internal heat, power, and freedom created through yoga continuously inspires and motivates me both on and off the mat. When I am not sweating on my mat, I stay busy chasing my son, walking my Boston Terrier, Vito, or exploring Bend’s amazing outdoor amenities with my family.
