PGA Director of Instruction/Player Development I’m a Northwest Native “Oregonian” where I have spent the majority of my career. I have two amazing daughters along with two granddaughters and the best fiancé any man could ever ask for and we now live in Central Oregon! My career path has worked up and down the West Coast (from Seattle, WA, to San Diego, CA and also did three 2-year stints at Kapalua Golf Club in Maui). I have always been a competitive player and appreciate the purpose in working towards something meaningful. From competing in events on the PGA Tour, or multiple time at the PGA Professional Championship (the national championship for PGA member professionals) and similar, we need a purpose. Further, I was privileged to coach high school golf in the Eugene area (for 8 seasons). During that time, with several back-to-back state championships won, our programs for both Girls and Boys was identified as the most dominant in the state, if not in OSAA history. I have a true passion for the game of golf, and am inspired to be a guide on the golf pathway for anyone wanting to make it a part of their life. I was blessed with some of the best mentors growing up and have always been motivated to give back based on what they modeled for me. My coaching style is based around solid fundamentals, while creating pathways to success around (or through) the player’s physical restrictions and limitations (because everyone has them.) In the process, we often uncover new strengths, learn how to best manage weakness and more. In the journey, we solidify confidence and we find results together (that is the fun part too!) One core part of the game I focus on with every player is scoring (or the short game.) I truly believe that “the best offense is always a better defense.” My primary goal with any player, at any skill level, I coach: I want to help them “find the fun in the game” and their source of inspiration to engage more deeply. Lucky for me, it would seem I have a knack for helping players “find their fun!” With that, I look forward to meeting you (and every member of Broken Top Club), and I hope you’ll give me the opportunity to “find your fun” (and your game) sometime soon.
